We’re Georgie & Greg - music is our lives, and pretty much all we do!
We both read and play music, with Greg being a full-time professional pianist and singer. We’ve been together for 15 years, having met in our other home, Australia. Greg grew up in Sydney and Georgie grew up in Somerset.
We wanted to create a music club that feels relaxed, friendly and welcoming, where people can come along, enjoy making music and learn at their own pace. Whether you’re just starting out or have been playing for years, everyone is welcome.
For our younger members, making sure they feel safe and comfortable is really important to us. We are both DBS checked, and Georgie has previously completed child protection training, as well as having experience caring for young children.
We’re looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully creating a club that you enjoy being part of!
THE MUSIC CLUB
AGE 5-8
The Music Club runs in six-week seasons, with each season bringing a whole new collection of things to discover, make, play and create.
It’s all about exploring everything and anything that involves music - and having a lot of fun while we’re at it! We’ll make up our own songs, tell stories and create the music and sound effects to go with them, make sounds from things you’d never normally think of as musical, play music games, make our own music-inspired crafts, experiment with rhythm and sound, and see where our ideas take us.
We’ll both be playing and making music throughout the sessions, with Greg on the piano, lots of singing and plenty of opportunities to join in. There’ll also be chances to have a little play with a few different instruments and sound-makers along the way.
There’ll be little bits of music history and musical discovery woven in too - finding out about people, uses and inventions that have shaped music and the way we experience it today. We’ll learn things simply because they’re interesting, rather than because we have to!
Most importantly, we want everyone to feel welcome, comfortable and able to be themselves. Every child is different, so we’ll get to know the group and work with their interests, personalities and ideas as we go.
If something sparks their imagination, we’ll run with it!
Our first season happens to include Halloween and Christmas, so expect a few festive musical adventures along the way too.
There’s no pressure and no expectation. Just lots of music, creativity, silliness, curiosity and things to have a go at - with plenty of learning tucked in along the way.
This is a club for fun!
